On Monday 16 May 2011 our partners Imperial College London and a panel of experts joined us for a discussion on growth and carbon emissions.

The event consisted of a panel discussion including Sainsbury's Chief Executive Justin King, Director of The Grantham Institute for Climate Change at Imperial College London Professor Sir Brian Hoskins, Minister of State for Climate Change Greg Barker MP, Chief Executive of WWF-UK David Nussbaum and chaired by the Environment Correspondent from the Times, Ben Webster.

The panel discussed a range of topics including the importance of innovation, partnerships and collaboration, whether we as individuals really believe carbon emissions must be reduced and others including:

• The leadership role that business can play
• What does Government need to do?
• Partnerships, innovation and collaboration
• Options for decarbonising the economy
• Does society believe action is really necessary?
